We will start by one of the most impressive monuments Portugal has to show: the Convent of Christ (the knights Templar’s headquarters). We will then continue to the town of Nazaré where the Portuguese deep ocean culture is perfectly represented. It is home to the biggest waves in the world (it holds the Guinness world record for the biggest wave ever surfed) and a strong fishing culture. We’ll finish the day with a visit to the unique medieval walled town of Óbidos, its historic streets and traditional architecture.

Our first stop will be at the historic center of Sintra to discover its beautiful labyrinth like streets. We will talk about what makes Sintra so special while discovering its secrets and taste its unique pastry.

We will then discover the Palace of Quinta da Regaleira and get lost in its 4 hectares of mysticism and romantic architecture and gardens. From here we will leave the tourists behind and go through the very picturesque and hidden towns of Colares, Penedo, Almoçageme etc. to reach the open Atlantic coastline. On the coastline we will go for a waterfront lunch before exploring its breathtaking cliff views and Cabo da Roca - The end of the World!

We will then have the best postcard like views of the Pena Palace and finish the tour with a visit to this unique romantic Palace.

If Portugal is all about ocean, record breaking waves and great fishing, come connect with it in great fashion! Your guide will pick you up in Cascais and keep heading west on a scenic 40 min drive. In fact this hike will start at the westernmost point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca: where the land finishes and the sea begins.

Our walk covers the area where the Sintra mountain touches the wild Atlantic creating one of the most dramatic, raw and rugged coastline sceneries in Europe. The hike follows the coastline varying from hidden beaches to clifftops.

The hike goes for around 4.5km and takes between 2 to 3 hours.
It has steep sections both up and down.
The terrain is often grovely, uneven with narrow paths.
In Total we climb roughly around 150m and descend around 300m.
